Mrs. Steele submitted a proposal for the Battelle Education TSIN/STEMx STEM Classroom Grants, sponsored by TVA and BVI.

We are happy to announce that our proposal for Decherd Elementary in the amount of $5,000 for the project “Building STEM through an outdoor tree house” has been selected for funding!

Our students will get to use the engineering design process to help build our outdoor tree house

Attention 4th grade parents. Math homework has a QR code to help you and your student! Use the camera on your cellphone to hover the QR code and follow the link!

A huge congratulations to the Decherd Elementary School Lady All Stars basketball team and coaches for being co-champions for the regular season and first place in the championship game! We are so proud of you and the hard work you all have put in this season!

DES would like to congratulate our very own, Amber Steele, for being selected Franklin County's District Pre-K through 4th grade teacher of the year! Thank you Amber for your love, compassion, and hard work you put in for the kids at DES and for education.

Motlow Community College is celebrating 50 years by reading to 50 classes. They presented DES a book after reading to our 3rd graders. Thanks Motlow! We were happy to be a part of the celebration.
